Ocean City wins at the Six Flags Wild Safari Invitational

The Ocean City High School boys cross country team won the Varsity B championship at the Six Flags Wild Safari Invitational in Jackson Township on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Raiders outscored second-place Phillipsburg 63-111. The meet featured teams from all over New Jersey as well as New York and Pennsylvania.
Erik Preisner was Ocean City’s top finisher, running the 3.1-mile course in 15 minutes, 40 seconds to finish second. Timothy Claessens of Newark Charter won in 15:27.6.
Ocean City’s other top runners were: Nathan Aschman (eighth in 16:04.7); Keenan Neuman (10th in 16:26.1); Michael Romano (21st in 16:52.5); and Benjamin McCarthy (24th in 16:53.2).
