Norton unveils its Resurgence strategy at EICMA in Italy; launches four all-new Manx and Atlas models

The UK-based Norton’s immediate commercial focus is on re-establishing itself in its traditional heartlands — the UK, Europe and the US — while also developing TVS’ home-market strength in India and South-East Asia to create a broader customer base, says a statement from TVS Motor Company (TVSM), which now owns the UK’s most-famous motorcycle brand launched 127 years ago. The goal is not rapid expansion but disciplined growth: Consistent quality, reliability, serviceability and compliance will always take precedence. Norton’s resurgent challenge is to prove to riders and regulators alike that its motorcycles are as robust and refined as they are beautiful and desirable, he said in a statement, as Norton Motorcycles unveiled its Resurgence strategy at EICMA in Italy and launched four all-new Manx and Atlas models. The company sources said that Norton bike launch in India could happen beyond April. Retail network Planned retail network to exceed 200 showrooms in the UK, the US, India and Europe, the statement said. “Over the last five years, TVS has invested more than £200 million preparing Norton for its next chapter – for the Resurgence of Norton, based on its core attributes of its history, design, dynamics and detail with a vision to create the world’s most desirable motorcycles. Norton will progress into the future using these characteristics and demonstrated in a very modern way for discerning customers around the world,” said Sudarshan Venu, Chairman, TVS Motor Company, in the statement. The company has built a global team – harnessing the best of British expertise, combined with international talent from across multiple countries, sectors and industries who have done a great job to come together for the new chapter of Norton, he said. Operating as a global hub for research, development and design, Norton’s Solihull site has the scale to build 8,000 motorcycles a year. It benefits from TVS’ wider manufacturing systems and supply chain infrastructures, while maintaining independent design and brand control in the UK. Recent expansion and refitting in readiness for production of the all-new Manx model line has resulted in a 25 per cent increase in the workforce, the statement said. At EICMA, TVSM, which is participating in the event for the first time, unveiled six new products across ICE and electric powertrains, advanced ride assist gear including AR-based Heads-Up display helmets, a stunning new range of accessories, connected technology that enhances rider-machine connect and its roadmap for expansion in Europe. It showcased TVS Tangent RR Concept – a supersport bike with a monocoque subframe; TVS eFX three o – electric motorcycle; TVS M1-S – the company’s first electric maxi scooter; TVS Apache RTX 300 in the adventure tourer segment; TVS X, an electric, lean, aerodynamic machine and TVS RTR HyprStunt Concept for urban sports motorcycles, said a statement.
