Ricardo Jordan of Norton Street, Georgetown, appeared yesterday before Magistrate Annette Singh at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court charged with possession of narcotics at Stabroek Market and was remanded after pleading not guilty.
The charge alleged that on Monday, September 15, at Stabroek Market, Georgetown, Jordan had in his possession 209.6 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
Jordan’s counsel, attorney-at-law Dominic Bess, stated that on the day in question, his client was at the Stabroek Market when the police conducted a raid while his client was among other people. Bess said that according to his client, the narcotics were found on a table stand and from the moment his client was questioned by the police he denied the allegation.
