National footfall grew by +3.92% year-on-year, accelerating from +2.87% in August, with every region experiencing growth. The figures present one of the most encouraging nationwide patterns seen in 2025 so far, with universal growth across the whole of the UK. Several regions outpaced the UK average, demonstrating broad-based momentum across the country. Northern Ireland led the UK with +5.29% year-on-year growth, closely followed by London at +4.97%. East Anglia and Wales both recorded strong increases of +4.47%, highlighting consistency across more urban and rural areas, while the West Midlands also performed strongly with +4.19% growth. Together, these figures show a widespread uplift rather than isolated regional performance, signalling a positive national trend for town centre recovery.
