North Village and PHC to collide in Friendship Trophy

North Village and PHC have been drawn to play each other in the Friendship Trophy preliminary round. The local giants, who drew 1-1 in the league on Saturday, are meeting in the initial stage of the competition after they were picked by Shannon Burgess, chairman of Bermuda Football Association's competitions committee, The two teams clashed in the semi-finals on Boxing Day last year, with PHC prevailing 2-1 to book a spot in the final for the 22nd time. The winner of the match between Village and PHC will face the winner of St George’s Colts and Paget, who were also paired in the preliminary stage. Matches for the opening round are scheduled for November 26 and December 3, with the quarter-finals due to start on the weekend of December 19. The draw for the First Division Shield quarter-finals was also conducted, with Somerset Trojans facing St David’s. Somerset Eagles will take on Southampton Rangers, Robin Hood will play Vasco and struggling Hamilton Parish will take on Wolves.
