Nomad has just launched Tracking Card Pro, designed to look like a credit card but with location technology, and a rechargeable battery built in. It’s just been announced and is available to order now. Apple’s Find My technology makes it easier, even for careless people like me, to not lose everything. The Apple AirTag is one way of using Find My, but the AirTag doesn’t fit into a wallet — arguably one of the most obvious use cases for Find My — without leaving a bulge. Nomad’s new Tracking Card Pro is flat, and at 2.5mm thick is one third of the thickness of an AirTag. ForbesiOS 26.2: Next iPhone Update Release Date Confirmed — Here’s What’s To Expect Tracking Card Pro is made from polycarbonate and aluminum, so it looks like a premium credit card. It’s light but still feels solid and doesn’t give when you try and flex it. The aluminum frame is visible on the edges of the card. It weighs 15 grams and has IPX7 water resistance. It comes in black or white color options. Both have what looks like an integrated circuit card, just as you’d find on a regular credit card. Its dimensions are exactly the same as a credit card, apart from being a bit thicker, so it fits into wallets easily. Set-up requires a long-press on the button which sits flush to the front. The Find My app on the iPhone then pairs with it and you can choose a name and an icon to identify the card in the app. To find the Tracking Card Pro, you can tap the Play Sound button in Find My and it emits a high-pitched tune. If it’s further afield, tapping the Directions button in the app will guide you. Note that like other non-Apple devices using Find My, it does not offer the precision tracking feature available if, for example, you’re seeking your Apple Watch from your iPhone. Even so, it can show the location of the Tracking Card Pro on a map, for instance. The card charges wirelessly on a MagSafe or other Qi charging pad, for instance. Nomad says it lasts for up to 16 months between charges. Tracking Card Pro costs $39, so $10 more than an AirTag, but the battery here is rechargeable, unlike the AirTag. And of course this is a slimmer fit for your wallet. It’s available now for order and ships in December.
