Hon. Noel Lipipa, Member of Parliament for Nancholi Kabula Chilomoni constituency, has praised President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s administration for demonstrating fiscal responsibility through its robust austerity program for the 2025/2026 financial year. In a long post shared on his official Facebook page, Lipipa, also known ass Noxy among the youth, highlighted key measures including; Suspension of non-essential recruitment and promotions, A 30% reduction in fuel and vehicle allocations, Restrictions on external travel as well as Downsizing of diplomatic staff in embassies. “These measures reflect difficult but necessary choices to secure long-term economic stability and rebuild a stronger foundation for growth,” Lipipa wrote. He also underscored the importance of complementing fiscal discipline with public sector reform, noting Vice President Justice Dr. Jane Ansah’s emphasis on improving service delivery. “Efficiency in public spending must go hand in hand with excellence in public service,” he added. Lipipa concluded that the success of these national efforts depends on strict adherence and commitment from all public officials, calling for a unified approach to ensure a more economically stable and prosperous Malawi.
