NJ man's 'Alligator Alcatraz' Halloween display angers neighbors

A New Jersey man’s MAGA Halloween display is drawing a spirited reaction in Jackson Township. The exhibit includes skeletons wearing United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) regalia and a small replica of the controversial Florida detention center dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz.” The homeowner, identified as Joe, said one person threatened to burn down his house. “Everybody’s got their political differences, and we’re supposed to talk about it,” he told NJ.com, complaining that doesn’t happen enough. Joe said he was forced to call police when one woman confronted his family over the weekend. Rather than giving in, Joe said he intends to add to his display. “I love what he’s (Trump) doing for the country,” he said. “He’s for America.” Joe said he’s constructed politically themed exhibits in the past. This one includes a statue of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and another of a locked-up inmate wearing a sombrero. The MAGA homeowner said he’s also displayed Trump-themed flags on his property. He finds it “ridiculous” that people get upset over his decor. According to NJ.com, no one has filed a formal complaint. Jackson Township Mayor Jennifer Kuhn claimed she takes issue with kids being exposed to the presentation’s “profanity,” but said that’s just her opinion. Video of Joe’s house taken by passersby have been widely seen on TikTok. He said the display took weeks to make and hopes people come to see it regardless their politics.
