The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has postponed the Class 10 and 12 exam across India due to the Bihar Assembly Elections and related administrative and logistical reasons. NIOS was scheduled to conduct Physics, History, Environmental Science and Library and Info Sc. Exam for Class 12 and Painting for Class 10 today (November 6), which has been cancelled due to first phase of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. “Due to the Bihar elections, administrative and logistic reasons Today's (6th Nov. 2025) theory exam will not be conducted throughout India. New date of the exam will be informed very soon,” NIOS mentioned in a tweet on 'X' (earlier known as Twitter). "All candidates appearing for NIOS Examination are advised to keep visiting the official website of NIOS for latest updates," the notice added. NIOS has also advised learners and study centres to await the revised schedule, which will be announced soon on the official NIOS website, nios.ac.in. The NIOS Class 10, 12 exams 2025 are scheduled to continue till November 18. The next Class 10 exam will be held tomorrow, November 7, for Science and Technology (212), while Class 12 students will appear for Data Entry Operations (Theory) (336) on the same day.
