TOKYO - The Nikkei stock index ended morning trading Wednesday up 2 percent after hitting a record intraday high, lifted by firm technology shares after semiconductor testing equipment maker Advantest Corp. released a robust earnings report. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 1,030.64 points, or 2.05 percent, from Tuesday to 51,249.82. The broader Topix index was up 2.03 points, or 0.06 percent, at 3,287.90.
