Nik Kershaw will perform live for one night only at Airdrie Town Hall next month

Nik Kershaw will perform live for one night only at Airdrie Town Hall next month.

The singer/songwriter behind global hits such as ‘The Riddle’ and ‘Wouldn’t it Be Good’ will share his “songs, stories and silliness” with Lanarkshire audiences on Saturday, October 11, at Airdrie Town Hall.

Nik exploded onto the UK pop scene in 1984 with a string of global hit singles including ‘Wouldn’t it be Good’, ‘The Riddle’ and ‘I Won’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me’ which saw him in the UK Singles Chart for 62 weeks, making him the UK’s biggest selling solo artist of that year.

After stepping out of the limelight to concentrate on writing and producing hits like Chesney Hawkes’s ‘The One and Only’ and collaborating with Elton John and Lulu among many, he returned to performing in 1998 and has been crafting critically acclaimed albums ever since.

Now he’s ready to look back with an intimate evening to coincide with the release of his new book. Expect songs, stories, and silliness from one of the nation’s most-loved performers.

He says: “This will be a lovely opportunity to share some of my funniest, most personal memories of 40 years in the music business. I look forward to sharing songs, stories and silliness with everyone and having some laughs!”
