Small business chat Niecia Glasgow, 20 years old, is a young East Coast pre-law school student and proprietor of “NICI’s Online Shopping”. The Stabroek Business sat down with her at her place of business where she shared her experiences as an entrepreneur, new business owner and as a prospective law student. Giving a background to NICI’s Online Shopping, Glasgow said “I started late May of this year, I’ve always wanted to go into business, however, I was occupied with my job and studies and during May I had the time. I’ve always done online shopping, not as a business, more so as a personal thing. Someone suggested to me, why don’t I go on a larger scale and do it as a business, because there are some persons that really would like this. So I took it into consideration and decided to start it in May”. When asked to describe her clientele, she responded, “We cater for online shopping. So persons may not always have the time to order themselves, or they don’t trust to put their cards online and so on, so we take care of that. So basically it is a personal concierge service,” Glasgow said.
