Two members of a NI grammar school's board of governors have resigned days after parents called for the entire board to step down. Last week members of a group of concerned parents of children who attend Assumption Grammar School in Ballynahinch wrote a letter to the board of governors calling on them to resign, citing a number of reasons including what they claimed was a lack of transparency following an EA investigation. In the days that followed, it is understood that two members of the Board have since resigned, Sean Gorman and Seamus Magee, the former chair of the Charity Commission in Northern Ireland. A number of sources connected to the school have said that the two governors, who were in a co-opted role, have resigned from their roles. The Education Authority and Department of Education have declined to comment saying it is a "matter for the school". Assumption Grammar School has also not resPonded to repeated requests for comment.
