NHS doctor's multi-award-winning cream for mature skin 'takes just one use to work'

When it comes to skincare routines, sometimes the simplest are the most effective. That's why many shoppers are turning to an award-winning cream from Dr. Sam's that's said to work in just one use, making it easy to incorporate into even the busiest of routines. Created by Dr Sam Bunting, a former NHS doctor who now runs her own private skin clinic on London's coveted Harley Street, Dr Sam's promises to offer 'dermatologist-adjacent' routines. One of the brand's hero products is the Flawless Moisturiser Intense, currently on sale , and is said to be ideal for sensitive skin. The Flawless Moisturiser Intense has won an impressive number of awards, including 2025's Best Barrier Cream in Woman & Home Magazine and 2024's ‘Beauty Game Changers - ‘Best Skincare Innovation’ in Women’s Health magazine, and according to the brand, it is clinically proven to repair the skin barrier after just one use. Deeply hydrating and soothing, it helps combat red, dry, and eczema-prone skin with its fragrance-free formula that's ultra-hydrating without feeling heavy. It layers with sunscreen and makeup, while harnessing the power of Sunflower Sprout Extract (SSE), a breakthrough ingredient that naturally elevates NAD+ levels in the skin to accelerate cellular renewal. “The rationale behind increasing available NAD+ levels in the skin makes so much sense,” says Dr Sam Bunting. "Our skin is biologically very active, as it forms our ‘wrapper’, protecting us from the constant challenges of our environment. "The action of protecting us from oxidative stress due to UV rays is a persistent drain on NAD+ levels, as is barrier repair. So, by boosting the production of NAD+, we can help to strengthen our skin’s defences against damage to our DNA and give essential support to the skin barrier." Back in March, MEN's Shawna Healey interviewed Dr Sam when the brand rolled out to Sephora stores. She recommends using the moisturiser as the third step (hydrate) in conjunction with the three other pillars of skincare. "There's cleanse, activate, hydrate and protect," Dr Sam explained. "I don't believe in unnecessary steps and I don't believe in skincare that's entertainment." On the release of the Flawless Moisturiser Intense back in 2023, she said: "This heals dry, sensitive and redness-prone skin from the inside out in a cosmetically elegant formula. Unlike those other heavy, gloopy and clogging face cream that wreak your makeup and stain your pillowcases, get ready to glow with the product you didn't know you needed." As an alternative, and for those with a smaller budget, there's the Weleda Skin Food Moisturiser available at Boots for £15.95 in 75ml. This product is described on the site as a 'miracle cream for dry and rough skin', and it contains lipids to increase moisturisation and extracts of pansy, chamomile and calendula help to calm the skin. Or for a more luxurious option, there's the Revitalizing Supreme+ Youth Power Soft Creme Moisturiser from Estee Lauder, available at a more expensive price of £84 for 50ml. This is said to be a multi-action soft cream, which firms, lifts and adds radiance. However, plenty of shoppers have been impressed by Dr Sam's Flawless Moisturiser Intense , including one who said: "Wonderful product, easy to apply, kind to my sensitive skin, my skin feels so moisturised. The best moisturiser I’ve ever used! Another said: "Absolutely fantastic moisturiser! It is a must have in anyone’s skincare regime. I have leaned into this moisturiser as I have got on board with a prescription retinoid. It has been wonderful in keeping my skin hydrated and balanced during this journey." Some found it wasn't quite right for them, including one buyer who said: "Lovely thick and hydrating moisturiser, however I have oily skin and have been applying in the morning, which has led to me breaking out. I would recommend only using in the evening if your skin gets oily throughout the day." However, among over 1,000 five star reviews was one shopper who said: "Just love this moisturiser. Nothing else like it. So softening and comforting without being heavy or oily. My husband loves it as well so we always buy the bigger size - love love love it." The Flawless Moisturiser Intense is available from Dr. Sam's.
