Following Tuesday's election of Zohran Mamdani as New York City's next mayor, New Hampshire governor sent a billboard truck to the Big Apple to send a message to businesses there. The billboard truck has ads with Ayotte's image and messages encouraging New York City businesses to move to New Hampshire, where there are lower taxes and less government interference. "Come to New Hamphire. We'll help your business make the switch and you'll keep more of your hard-earned money!" one message on the rotating billboard truck read. "New Hampshire: Safe, prosperous, free. What New York used to be," said another. The billboard trucks were paid for out of Ayotte's campaign fund. “New Hampshire has a lot to offer anyone who is looking to leave NYC ahead of the Mamdani regime. We are the safest state in the country, the best for economic opportunity, and we have some of the lowest taxes anywhere," Ayotte said in a statement. "Whether you own a business or just want to keep more of your hard earned money - come on up to the Granite State. We’d love to have you." The governor also pointed out that New Hampshire has been ranked #1 in America for economic opportunity, taxpayer return on investment, child wellbeing, and public safety. This isn't the first time Ayotte has focused her attention on states outside of New Hampshire. During her campaign for governor in 2024, she used a “Don’t Mass. Up New Hampshire” slogan to rail against more liberal Massachusetts to the south, including a pledge to ban sanctuary cities, which limit cooperation with federal immigration authorities.
