Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill suffered a gruesome injury when his left leg bent in the wrong direction after he was tackled along the sideline during Tuesday’s game against the Jets.
The injury, later determined to be a dislocated knee per ESPN, happened early in the third quarter after QB Tua Tagovailoa found Hill for a 10-yard pass along the sideline and Jets safety Malachi Moore grabbed him by the left leg to tackle him, and the leg twisted into an unnatural position.

Medical personnel immediately rushed to Hill’s side as they stabilised his leg, and carted him off the field at Hard Rock Stadium, the New York Post reports.
Dolphins trainers focused on Hill’s knee as they worked to stabilise it – cutting off his cleats – and Hill’s mother was able to come down to the field, ESPN’s Katie George reported on the broadcast.

He was smiling and waving to the crowd as he was taken into the tunnel.
The Dolphins officially declared Hill out with a knee injury and said he was taken to a local hospital for imaging, evaluation and observation.
The reception at the time of his injury was Hill’s sixth of the game and had upped his total to 67 receiving yards on the night as the Dolphins led the Jets.
Miami finished the drive by finding the end zone as Tagovailoa found tight end Darren Waller for a 9-yard touchdown pass three plays later to extend the Dolphins’ lead to 17-3 with 11:33 remaining in the third quarter.
Hill had entered the game with 15 receptions for 198 receiving yards and one touchdown through the first three games of the season.
He had back-to-back seasons of 1,700-plus yards his first two years with the Dolphins before suffering a down year in 2024, in which he failed to eclipse the 1,000 receiving yard mark.
