NFL star says Charlie Kirk quote attributed to him is wrong: ‘100% fabricated’

Baltimore Ravens star tight end Mark Andrews has called out an account on X after it attributed a quote to Andrews about Charlie Kirk that he insists he didn’t say.
The account, @JDunlalp1974, posted what Andrews says is a fake quote attributed to him on Wednesday.

“Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews: ‘Football should be about the game. The competition and the fans – NOT POLITICS. Stop bringing up Charlie Kirk. Because it has nothing to do with what we do on the field.’Do you agree or disagree with Mark Andrews?”Josh Dunlap has more than 360,000 followers, and his apparent fake quote from Mark Andrews reached more than 5 million people as of Friday morning.Finally, Thursday morning, Andrews quote tweeted Dunlap’s post and cleared the air.“This is 100% fabricated. You got the wrong person,” Andrews said.Charlie Kirk died on Sept. 10 after being shot in Utah at the first stop of his American Comeback Tour on college campuses.
President Donald Trump announced that the husband and father of two had died approximately two hours after he was shot.
Kirk was an outspoken supporter of Trump who founded Turning Point USA. His YouTube channel has more than 3.84 million subscribers.
Prosecutors are alleging that Tyler Robinson shot Kirk with a bolt-action rifle from the roof of a campus building at Utah Valley University.
