Brett Favre went down as one of the best quarterbacks that the NFL has ever seen during his 17-year career that saw him play for the Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings. Best known for his time with the Packers, who he led to a Super Bowl in 1996, Favre threw for 71,838 yards with 508 passing touchdowns en route to becoming enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016. After his NFL career, Favre dabbled in coaching as he became the offensive coordinator for Oak Grove High School in Mississippi. Favre, 56, only spent a couple of years with the program, and hasn’t really been around football like other former players have dove into a career in the media field. In fact, one of the instances that saw him make the most headlines after his playing days was an 2023 incident between him and former New York Jets star, Mark Gastineau. At a trading card event, Gastineau confronted Favre about taking a dive in a 2002 game against the New York Giants that allowed for Michael Strahan to break his single-season sack record. Outside of that and Favre’s 2020 welfare scandal that saw him scam linked to what CBS Sports called a “misappropriation” of around $77 million in state funds, Favre has been relatively off the grid. Something that has changed in recent days, as a result of an announcement he made. In a recent Instagram post where he shared a video of himself discussing the passing of former NFL offensive lineman Nick Mangold, Favre also revealed that he and David Kano have officially launched a podcast called “4th and Favre.” “I want to start out by sending my condolences to Nick Mangold’s family — he was a great teammate and elite player,” wrote Favre on Instagram. “My new podcast is finally out and it’ll be a weekly show. Please like, share, and subscribe. Episode 1 is live and the link in my bio. Follow @4thandfavrefor more content.” Favre initially announced the podcast last September, saying it would release the following week, but for reasons unknown at this time, the show didn’t actually launch until this week.
