NFL Insider Predicts Three Teams Will Make Big Splash at Trade Deadline

The November 4 trade deadline is fast approaching and there have already been a few trades. While none have been of the blockbuster variety, a top NFL insider believes there are three teams that could make a big splash at the deadline, and they all reside in the same division. The same can be said for teams expected to be “buyers,” as they stand pat with their current rosters. One thing is guaranteed: there is almost always going to be a big-name player changing teams before the deadline passes. Among the teams that could be looking to boost their rosters are three in the NFC West. NFL insider Ari Meirov believes that the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and the Los Angeles Rams are poised to make a big play. There’s always that one NFL trade that comes out of left field — and I’ve got my eye on the NFC West…With the #49ers, #Rams, and #Seahawks all sitting at 5 wins, it just feels like something’s brewing out there.Full trade deadline preview: https://t.co/cDwFpzcg0C https://t.co/i3FQEzXuLH pic.twitter.com/mqYiTlr6Oe— Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate) October 28, 2025 “The NFC West to me is so interesting. You got the Rams at 5-2 and the Seahawks at 5-2, and the 49ers at 5-3, and you look at the recent history of those three teams in particular, those three teams are the kings of the trade deadline. The 49ers go out there and trade for a Christian McCaffrey, the Rams go out there and trade for a Von Miller or a Jalen Ramsey, and you have a team like the Seattle Seahawks that trades for a Leonard Williams. These teams like to do trades before the trade deadline,” Meirov said. Meirov is correct in that the 49ers, Rams, and Seahawks have made some huge moves in recent history. However, the NFL insider also points to a far more important reason that all three should be buyers at the deadline. Meirov pointed out that the general managers in the NFC West are not afraid to make moves at the deadline and that they make moves with the sole intention of winning the division. This makes sense for multiple reasons. The 49ers are a very banged-up team, and they may look to shore up their roster holes with new additions. The defensive end and linebacker position is one trade that has been tied to San Francisco heavily in recent weeks. The Rams need some cornerback help, especially with Akhello Witherspoon being injured. A big-name secondary player could be on the docket for Los Angeles. Seattle is an interesting team here, as they may be looking for help on the offensive line or another wide receiver, but there have been few reports on that. The Seahawks have not made the playoffs since the 2022 season, and being this close could prompt a big move. It would make sense for the Seahawks to target a wide receiver, as they have superstar Jaxson Smith-Njigba leading the way with 819 receiving yards. Beyond that, no other receiver on the team has eclipsed 300. Cooper Kupp is proving to be a bit of a disappointment, so the offense may need some more help so Smith-Njigba does not remain the primary target for Sam Darnold. The trade deadline is coming up, and all three of these teams have a reason to make a big move. Especially if they are trying for a playoff push. For more on the NFL, head to Newsweek Sports.
