New York Comic Con 2025 travel guide: Getting there from Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — You may be seeing Spider-Man or The Mandalorian on the ferry this October!
New York Comic Con will be returning to the Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan Oct. 9 through Oct. 12, with four days filled with movie studio panels, celebrity autographs, geeky shopping and endless costumes.
For Staten Island residents planning to attend, getting to the event can be a challenge, as parking is limited and traffic around the convention center can be difficult to manage.
The Javits Center can also be confusing to navigate. Although the official address is 429 Eleventh Ave, the building spans five city blocks, stretching from West 34th St. up to 39th St.
There are multiple entrances. Fans with general admission tickets will enter on 11th and 38th St. or 34th St. halfway between 11th and 12th Ave. Those with VIP and ADA tickets can enter at the 11th and 34th St. entrance.
Here are the best ways to travel to New York Comic Con this year.
Ferry
Those interested in traveling by boat to the convention are able to take the New York City “Fast” Ferry, which docks at St. George, at 1 Bay Street. The boat’s second stop, Midtown West which is located at 12th Ave. and West 39th St., is just a few minute walk from the main entrances of the center.
Tickets can be purchased through the NYC Ferry App or at Ticket Vending Machines at the landings. The two types available for purchase are: Single-Ride for $4.50 or 10-Trip Pass for $29.00.
Bus
Multiple stops are within walking distance of the convention center for those traveling into Manhattan by express bus.
Some of these buses are the SIM10, SIM11, SIM1C, SIM30 and the SIM3. Check mta.info or use the MTA app for real-time bus arrivals and schedules.
Train
The closest subway station to the Javits Center is the 34th-Hudson Yards Station (7 train). The 34th-Penn Station stops, which serve the A, C, E, 1, 2, and 3 lines, are also within walking distance.
Car
Interested in driving? The New York Comic Con website recommends using Google Maps or Waze for directions due to street closures and checking ParkWhiz or SpotHero for the best parking options.
There’s also street parking and plenty of parking garages, with prices ranging anywhere from $40 to $100 for the day.
Note that congestion pricing is in effect for areas of Manhattan south of 61st Street, including the area of the convention center.
