New York AG Faces Charles Of With Bank Fraud

New York Attorney General Letitia James has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Virginia, multiple news outlets reported on Thursday, as the second Donald Trump adversary to be targeted by the Justice Department at the president’s urging.
James was charged with charges of bank fraud and false statements, the Associated Press reported.
James’ indictment follows the DOJ’s indictment last month of former FBI Director James Comey on charges of making a false statement to Congress and obstruction. Comey plead not guilty.
James brought a civil case against Trump, his company and family members that led to a $464 million civil penalty. That figure was tossed out by an appeals court in August, but a lower court finding that Trump was liable for business fraud was upheld.
Last month, Trump posted a note to Attorney General Pam Bondi on Truth Social, asking, “What about Comey, Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff, Leticia??? They’re all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done.” Trump appointed a loyalist, Lindsey Halligan, to serve as acting U.S. attorney in the Virginia district, after the previous U.S. attorney resigned.
The James case was assigned to U.S. District Judge Jamar Walker, appointed by Trump’s predecessor, Joe Biden, according to court records.
More to come.
