Here’s some business news in the Missoula area:
The owners of the Double K Ranch deli and restaurant in Missoula have released an exciting update on their plans for a new downtown bar.
On social media, co-owner Dillon Kouf said they’re working hard right now to remodel the space downtown on Higgins Avenue between the Wilma Theater and the Double K Ranch General Store.
“We’re really excited to be working with the building owner (Nick Caras) to take this 100-year-old historic building in downtown Missoula and transform three separate retail spaces into one large western-themed bar, something that’s not really in Missoula right now,” he said. “And that’s gonna look amazing and it’s gonna be a great atmosphere to come hang out in.”
They plan to be open in the spring of 2026, he said.
The Sushi Palace, a restaurant in Southgate Mall, has announced they’re planning on a new food truck. They’ll be serving ramen, fried rice, lo mein, egg rolls, veggie samosas and more. Basically, everything they already serve besides sushi.
“Street food cravings, meet your match,” the owners wrote on social media. “From slurp-worthy spicy tonkotsu ramen to golden pork buns and crispy fried calamari rings, our truck is serving comfort food with a crunchy twist. No matter if you’re team noodles or team fried snacks, we’ve got flavor that travels with you.”
They’ll be announcing where “Palace on the Road” stops soon.
Climate Smart Missoula and partners are hosting Missoula’s third-annual Climate Solutions Week, Sept. 27-Oct. 5, with over 20 free events.
ClimateFest will be held in Caras Park on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m..
“This free, family-friendly community celebration features dozens of local partners prioritizing climate solutions, from local solar installers and health-centered organizations to outdoor experts and an electric vehicle and bike show,” said the nonprofit in a press release. “There will be demos on the half-hour focused on weatherization, induction cooking, tree care and bike maintenance. Plus, there are many more ways to get involved.”
The week of festivities concludes with a community Climate Ride, with three bike route options including a family-friendly Climate Protector ride. The event is free to participate, but serves as a fundraiser for local climate and sustainability organizations.
“As urgent as the climate crisis is, there have never been more opportunities for all of us to be part of the solution, right here in Missoula,” said Amy Cilimburg, executive director of Climate Smart Missoula. “Local action has far-reaching implications and helps to build a stronger community. And we know that acting later is too late, so now is the time to show up, and to have fun doing so.”
Climate Solutions Week includes events like Solar House Parties, a garden tour and seed-ball-making workshop, Climate Ambassadors Training and luncheon, a live podcast recording, a sustainable fashion show and more.
“Climate impacts every sector, from business and tourism to local agriculture and artistry,” said Shanti Devins, program director at Climate Smart Missoula. “That’s why this week is so important, no matter where we’re coming from, we each have a role to play in building the healthy, livable future we all want.”
Details and a full schedule of events for Climate Solutions Week, ClimateFEST and Climate Ride can be found at MissoulaClimate.org/Solutions.
