Once this work reaches its final stage, a decision will be made to operate a direct train from Jammu station to Srinagar. Railway officials stated that the project’s progress was initially slowed due to flash floods. However, the Railways is now working with full force and striving to achieve all targets within the stipulated time. Jammu station is undergoing a makeover An official said, “Two types of work are underway at Jammu station: civil structures and track work. Track work is almost complete, while new platforms, modern facilities, waiting areas, and the station building are in the final stages. It is expected that all work will be completed by the end of November.
