New Taco Bell with a twist sets tentative opening date in Manlius

Manlius, NY — Construction work is continuing on the new Taco Bell Cantina in the village of Manlius, as the owners announce a target opening date.
The new restaurant is tentatively set to open the third week of October, said Mike McCracken, director of development for Hospital Restaurant Group. It will have indoor seating and an outdoor venue for entertainment.
This will be the first Taco Bell Cantina in the area. The restaurants are known for their expanded menu and for serving beer, wine, sangria, and freezes with booze. They also often feature entertainment.
While the village of Manlius and Onondaga County planners frowned on the idea of tearing down the old fire station and turning it into a fast-food restaurant, they did like the idea of the upscale Taco Bell.
Taco Bell opened its first Cantina in 2015, and now has more than 60 locations across the U.S.
The new restaurant also will have a drive-thru.
The building also will have several apartments on the top floor.
