Jet2 has announced a “hat-trick” of new destinations from Birmingham Airport – and it’s good news for fans of the lesser known hidden gems of Europe. The popular budget airline announced on September 25 that it would be launching three new destinations from its Birmingham base including one of Greece’s “best kept secrets.” Some of the locations announced are new destinations, others are new resorts which can be accessed by existing Jet2 routes. Travel chiefs said the Greek destinations were put on to meet “demand” from the Midlands. New Jet2 Birmingham Airport destinations: The Olympus Riviera, which is famed for its combination of mountain and coast and proximity to Mount Olympus, can be reached via flights to Thessaloniki Airport with two weekly services (Tuesday and Friday) on sale from Birmingham Airport from April 3 to 30 October 2026. Meganisi is accessible via Preveza Airport with two weekly services (Wednesday and Saturday) from Birmingham Airport with Jet2.com in Summer 2036 between May 3 and October 18 2026. The tiny island has been described as “untouched” and “one of Greece’s best kept secrets.” Jet2 added that they have added Palermo in Italy as a brand new city break destination in time for next summer, with weekly Wednesday trips departing from May 6 to October 21 2026.
