'New Heights' Snubbed by Golden Globes for Joe Rogan, Megyn Kelly

Travis and Jason Kelce won’t be adding “Golden Globe nominees” to their list of accolades next year.
“New Heights,” the popular podcast hosted by the Kelce brothers, was not longlisted as one of the 25 podcasts eligible for the award show’s inaugural Best Podcast award.
The list, released on Thursday, October 2, included podcasts like “Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard,” “Call Her Daddy,” “Candace,” “Good Hang with Amy Poehler,” “SmartLess,” “The Ben Shapiro Show,” “The Joe Rogan Experience,” “The Megyn Kelly Show,” “The Tucker Carlson Show” and “This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von.”
“This year’s inaugural list of eligible programs for the new Best Podcast eligibility list reflects the incredible depth, diversity and creativity thriving in the podcasting world today,” said Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes. “From groundbreaking investigative series to deeply personal storytelling and innovative audio formats, this list showcases the power of podcasting to inform, entertain, and inspire audiences around the globe.”
The statement concluded, “The Golden Globes is proud to be the first major entertainment award to recognize this medium.”
The list was determined by the Golden Globes’ data partner, Luminate, described as “the entertainment industry’s leading authority on audio analytics and insights.”
Travis, 35, and Jason, 37, being snubbed from the list comes on the heels of a record-breaking year for their podcast.
When Travis’ now-fiancée, Taylor Swift, appeared on “New Heights” in August, the show set the Guinness Book of World Record for the most concurrent views for a podcast on YouTube with 1.3 million.
“New Heights” routinely lands in the top 10 sports podcasts on the Apple Podcasts charts and has recently featured A-list guests like Leonardo DiCaprio, Benicio Del Toro, Adam Sandler, Kevin Hart and Bill Murray.
The rest of the Golden Globes longlist included “20/20 (from ABC News)”, “48 Hours (from CBS News),” “Crime Junkie,” “Dateline NBC,” “Morbid,” “MrBallen Podcast: Strange, Dark & Mysterious Stories,” “Pardon My Take,” “Pod Save America,” “Rotten Mango,” “Shawn Ryan Show,” “Stuff You Should Know,” “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” “The Daily (from The New York Times),” “The Mel Robbins Podcast” and “Up First from NPR.”
The winner of Best Podcast will be presented at the 83rd Golden Globes on January 11, 2026.
“New Heights” signed a nine-figure deal with podcast studio Wondery in August 2024.
The deal included global distribution rights to the popular podcast, ad-sales representation, rights to past episodes, and the right to launch international adaptations of the podcast.
“We couldn’t be more excited to team up with Wondery for the next phase of ‘New Heights,’” Travis and Jason said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter at the time. “We love this show, and the fanbase that has grown with us over the last two seasons. Wondery understands the shared vision and will offer a wealth of experience and resources to take us to ‘New Heights!’ We are going to create some groundbreaking moments together through this partnership.”
