New Gran Marbella Resort & Beach Club dazzles with slow elegance

Marbella’s latest gem, the Gran Marbella Resort & Beach Club, opened this summer along Real de Zaragoza beach, marking Iconic Luxury Hotels’ debut in Andalusia.

Embracing “slow luxury”, the resort is a mix of Andalusian charm with modern elegance at a calmer pace, offering a more refined escape.

The setting and design being situated on a tranquil beach, the resort balances serenity and accessibility to Marbella’s party-filled core. Designed by Goddard Littlefair, interiors present Moorish-inspired elements like horseshoe arches, zellige tilework, and local stone, with terracotta and sage hues evoking the region’s natural tones. Courtyards reminiscent of riads create an organic, globally inspired ambiance.

The resort offers 135 rooms and suites, including ten unique suites with private pools or Jacuzzis. Spacious yet intimate, these spaces invite relaxation with Mediterranean views and Andalusian light.

Three outdoor pools cater to diverse guests: one family-friendly, another adults-only, and a third at the Amù Beach Club with infinity-edge views and beach access. Each has its own bar for uniquely tailored experiences.

Marbella’s Amù Beach Club, the brand’s first in Spain, brings Riviera glamour with an infinity pool, Mediterranean-to-table dining, live music, and sunset views, serving as the resort’s vibrant social hub.

La Terraza offers Mediterranean dishes with Andalusian style, like seafood linguine and Malagueña-style tuna. The Garden Bar serves Andalusian-inspired cocktails, while the Lobby Bar and Pool Bar provide intimate and casual settings.

The Champneys Spa, a British wellness brand’s European debut here, features seven treatment rooms, a sauna, steam room, indoor pool, and classes like yoga and Pilates, blending coastal-inspired rituals with signature treatments.

Carefully curated activities, from olive oil tastings to excursions in nearby villages and Marbella’s Old Town, immerse guests in Andalusia’s culture.

With a 17-million-euro renovation, the resort elevates Marbella’s luxury scene, joining icons like Marbella Club. Its slow luxury philosophy, world-class design, and cultural programming attract discerning travellers seeking meaningful elegance and experiences. Gran Marbella Resort & Beach Club is on Avenida Jose Ribera, 25 Marbella. Call 951 05 39 70 for bookings, or visit granmarbellaresort.com.
