ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - Students in one north St. Louis County school district will be riding in style with a new fleet of buses offering quiet comfort. The Normandy Schools Collaborative broke ground on a charging station Thursday morning for 15 electric busses. The buses are expected to roll out in the spring. The schools received a $1.7 million grant from the EPA Clean School Bus Program to support the buses and chargers. Supporters say the vehicles will save money on fuel and be easier on the environment. "Our kids benefit, they get new busses, new transportation. Energy efficient and quiet. They don't have to consume exhaust fumes," said Michael D. Triplett, superintendent of Normandy Schools Cooperative.
