The Brew Room in Ardmore is opening soon, but don’t expect the typical Greek diner fare and vibes when you stop in for a bite or beverage.
ARDMORE, PA — Husband and wife duo Danny and Eleni Chrisidis are gearing up for the opening of their first joint venture together, and the couple promises to bring a something for everyone to their new Main Line coffee shop.
The Brew Room is expected to open in the near future at 6 W. Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore.
This newcomer to the Main Line’s booming food and beverage scene is bringing Greek and European fare to folks looking for coffee, grab-and-go foods, and more.
The Chrisidises both hail from Greece, and are bringing Danny’s decades of restaurant industry experience and Eleni’s project management background together for their first joint venture.
“We are excited,” Eleni Chrisidis told Patch. “Everyone is excited.”
The space will featuring seating for about 40 people, including two- and four-tops, lounge chairs, a couch, and six stools for seating at the shop’s bar.
“We are trying to create a fun, cool, cozy vibe,” she said. “There will be plenty of seating and plenty of lighting.” Guests looking to be productive while visiting The Brew Room will also be able to tap into free Wi-Fi.
As for food and drink, guests can expect a range of offerings that cater to picky kids, those with dietary restrictions, and omnivores.
“We truly believe in having something for everybody while staying true to our identity,” she said. “We want to make sure whoever steps inside can find at least one thing for themselves.”
The food menu will feature French bakery-style items, such as tarts and croissants that are all made locally, as well as typical Greek pies.
In addition to favorites like spinach and feta pies, The Broom Room will offer vegan and other vegetarian pies.
Guests will also find a Greek staple at The Brew Room: bougatsa. Bougatsa is a flaky pastry that can be either sweet or savory. The Brew Room will serve bougatsa filled with vanilla cream and topped with powdered sugar and cinnamon, a cheese filled version, and a spinach and cheese version.
Sandwiches on the menu will be made fresh, in house, daily. Guests can get them as is, or served toasted like paninis. Vegan, vegetarian, and meat options for sandwiches will be available.
Greek desserts will also be on the menu, with Chrisidis saying fans of Greek sweets will find some of their favorite items on offer.
Kids will have their own menu as well, and that will feature items such as grilled cheese, peanut butter and jelly, and mini cheese pies.
And most importantly is the coffee.
Chrisidis said she and her husband are most excited about serving up the Greek freddo.
“It’s a shaken espresso shot on ice,” she said. “Our version is frothy and creamy. We even use a special mixer to shake the espresso shots.”
Freddo cappuccinos will also be available, and they come with milky froth on top.
Both freddo options are serves cold.
Other beverages on the menu include iced matcha lattes, ices lattes, and hot coffee.
Chrisidis said The Brew Room will host a ribbon cutting soon in partnership with the Ardmore Business Association and the Ardmore Initiative.
“We’ve never seen support like that,” she said of the two local organizations. “We are truly thankful for them.”
Chrisidis is hoping to open sometime around Oct. 12, but said an exact opening date is still a bit of a moving target due to final touches being added to the space.
