New bullying complaints deepen turmoil for board overseeing Oregon’s largest network of federal health clinics

The controversial chair of the volunteer board directing Oregon’s largest network of federally funded health clinics is facing new bullying complaints, just months after investigators substantiated similar complaints made against her. A Multnomah County employee filed a formal complaint against Tamia Deary in October, and three board members detailed their own negative experiences with Deary in emails to her and county staff, records show. Another board member cited Deary as the reason for their resignation, a departure that put the powerful community health board even further out of compliance with federal funding requirements and has left the county in danger of losing millions in grant money.
