Netflix's House of Guinness star completely unrecognisable in forgotten role

House of Guinness star Louis Partridge looks completely unrecognisable in throwback snaps of his forgotten 2017 role. The 22-year-old actor joins the likes of Anthony Boyle and James Norton in the new Netflix drama, which delves into the iconic brewery’s history . Now streaming, the eight-part show follows Benjamin Lee Guinness’ children; Edward (played Partridge), Arthur (Boyle), Ben (Fionn O’Shea) and Anne Plunket (Emily Fairn), as they take over the business following their father’s death. The historical drama was created by Peaky Blinders writer Steven Knight , who also serves as an executive producer. As with Knight’s previous works, House of Guinness has been receiving positive reviews. Rotten Tomatoes critics have awarded it an impressive 86% score so far. Much of the praise has been targeted at its stellar cast, who fittingly don 19th Century attire throughout the show. So Netflix viewers may struggle to recognise London-born actor Partridge in resurfaced pictures from 2017. In a recent Instagram post shared by Studio Canal UK, the young star can be seen wearing a multi-coloured hoodie, along with neon orange headphones and bright goggles. The snap is taken from his role in Paddington 2, in which he played G-Man, the ringleader of a popular group that Jonathan Brown tries to join. The family film premiered just three years before Partridge found widespread fame following his part in Netflix’s adventure thriller Enola Holmes. The 2020 film charts Sherlock Holmes’ (depicted by Henry Cavill) younger sister Enola (played by Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown) as she embarks on a mission to find their missing mother, Eudoria (portrayed by Helena Bonham Carter). Partridge plays Enola’s love interest Tewksbury, whom she meets on the quest. The young actors later reprised their roles in the sequel, Enola Holmes 2, which premiered in 2022. Elsewhere, Partridge has starred in the likes of Apple TV’s psychological thriller Disclaimer, opposite Cate Blanchett. While his big screen features include Matthew Vaughn’s 2024 spy-thriller Argylle. He has also been making headlines for dating American popstar Olivia Rodrigo. The singer famously wrote a love song titled ‘So American’ seemingly dedicated to Partridge. House of Guinness is streaming now on Netflix
