Fall is just around the corner, and the best streaming services are already raking in plenty of great movies to watch this weekend. But when you’re spoiled for choice, narrowing down which movies are worth your precious streaming time can become a chore in and of itself.
With that in mind, each weekend, I comb through the Netflix top 10 list of most-watched movies to give you the skinny on the best of the bunch so you don’t waste your movie night with a dud. This week, my top picks include a creepy horror feverdream that gave me “Coraline” vibes, a Miranda Cosgrove-led romcom that’s cheesy in all the right ways, and a shocking documentary about one of Hollywood’s most infamous stars.
Not feeling any of these picks? For even more streaming recommendations, be sure to check out our guide to everything new on Netflix this month. So, without further ado, let’s dive into the three movies in Netflix’s top 10 that are worth adding to your watchlist.

Best movies in the Netflix top 10
‘Cobweb’ (2023)
Cobweb (2023) Official Trailer – Lizzy Caplan, Woody Norman, Cleopatra Coleman, Antony Starr – YouTube
Our streaming writer Alix Blackburn described “Cobweb” as “the creepier cousin of ‘Coraline,'” and that hits the nail on the head. This horror movie, which wasted no time crashing the Netflix top 10, captures the same unsettling, fairy tale-like atmosphere filtered through a child’s perspective. “Cobweb” follows 8-year-old Peter (Woody Norman), a quiet boy living under the watchful eyes of his overly protective parents, Carol (Lizzy Caplan) and Mark (Antony Starr). One night, Peter begins to hear knocking sounds coming from inside the walls of his bedroom, which his parents brush off as just his imagination running wild.
The sounds persist, and soon Peter starts to communicate with a voice claiming to be trapped within the walls of his home. More unsettling still, it shares some disturbing secrets with him about his parents’ past until Peter questions everything he thought he knew. As his trust falls apart at the seams, he comes to the terrifying realization that home may not be as safe as it seems.

‘The Wrong Paris’ (2025)
The Wrong Paris | Miranda Cosgrove and Pierson Fodé | Official Trailer | Netflix – YouTube
After directing Lindsay Lohan’s acting comeback in “Irish Wish” last spring, Janeen is back with another delightfully cheesy romcom, this time starring “iCarly” alum Miranda Cosgrove. She plays a small-town Texas gal who enrolls in a “Bachelor”-style dating hoping to fund her future, but ends up catching feelings along the way.
When Dawn (Cosgrove) is accepted into a prestigious Parisian art school she can’t afford, she hatches a scheme to audition for her favorite dating show, which just so happens to be filming in Paris. On paper, the plan is simple: nail the audition, be one of the first ones out, pocket the appearance fee, and stay in France for school. But things go sideways fast when she learns it’s actually set in Paris, Texas, and the show’s cowboy bachelor (Pierson Fodé) is 1,000% her type.

‘aka Charlie Sheen’ (2025)
aka Charlie Sheen | Official Trailer | Netflix – YouTube
Netflix has been on a documentary hot streak all summer, so it’s no shock to see its latest about Hollywood’s most infamous stars still hanging strong in the Netflix top 10 for a second week in a row. “Aka Charlie Sheen” might seem like just another celebrity tell-all at first glance, but it sets itself apart with jaw-dropping revelations, including secrets Sheen once said he’d “never tell outside of his therapist’s office.”
From his early breakout roles in “Platoon” and “Wall Street” to sitcom superstardom on “Two and a Half Men”—and the headline-making downfall that followed—the documentary traces the chaotic rise and fall of Sheen’s career. Through candid interviews with ex-wives, former collaborators, and even his former drug dealer, “aka Charlie Sheen” crafts an unfiltered portrait of fame, addiction, and the long road to recovery.
