Netflix has just confirmed a series viewers dubbed a "true masterpiece" is getting a second season very soon - and it is adapted from a best-selling manga series . One Piece was released on Netflix back in 2023 and became a firm favourite amongst fans . Based on Japan's highest-selling Manga series of all time, by Eiichiro Oda, it follows a young pirate named Monkey D. Luffy as he sets out to find a legendary treasure known as the "One Piece". In the hopes of becoming the king of the pirates, he travels the seas with his crew in what has been dubbed as an "epic" and quirky adventure. Today (October 28), Netflix has announced the release date for One Piece Season 2 as well as a first look at Drum Island. One Piece Season 2 will be released on Netflix on March 10, 2026 starring Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Sanji, Emily Rudd as Nami and Jacob Romero as Usopp. Netflix has teased "fiercer adversaries" as well as "the most perilous quests yet" with new dangers at every turn. The streaming giant hints: "Netflix’s epic high-seas pirate adventure, ONE PIECE, returns for Season 2— unleashing fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet. "Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line—a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world ’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies." Season 1 soared in popularity with one viewer describing it as a "true masterpiece". One Google reviewer said: "Netflix you've done it this time. wow that's what you call an adaptation." Another added: "Just Finished Watching This Absolute Masterpiece. I'm Obsessed with Cast of this Live-action literally!" A third wrote: "One Piece," the latest gem from Netflix, is a true masterpiece that has left me utterly captivated. From its captivating storyline to its endearing characters, this series has set a new standard in the realm of entertainment." A fourth penned: "The "One Piece" live-action series is an exhilarating adaptation that has truly captured the essence of Eiichiro Oda's beloved manga and anime." One person wrote: " This is without a doubt one of the best films i have watched. I love it. And i have never watched the original cartoon." Another added: "The best adaptation ever!" Upon its debut back in 2023, the live action series became a huge global phenomenon and spent eight weeks in the top 10, making it to number one in over 75 countries. It currently boats a top score of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. With its return with Season 2 in 2026, it has been confirmed that the live adaptation series has also been renewed for Season 3. One Piece season 2 will be released on Netflix on March 10, 2026 .
