Over the last several months, Netflix has been betting big on airing live streaming events. On top of inking a 10-year $5 billion deal to stream WWE content internationally, the company has also invested big in airing live boxing events. After Netflix held a huge boxing event that was headlined by Jake Paul boxing Mike Tyson, they were set to try to recreate the magic. However, the company has just revealed that Jake Paul’s planned next fight, which was going to stream live on Netflix, has been canceled. Netflix Has Canceled the Planned Jake Paul vs. Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis Fight and Event On November 3, 2025, Netflix published an article stating that Jake Paul’s next boxing match on the streaming service was being “delayed.” However, the article actually revealed that Paul and Gervonta “Tank” Davis’ previously announced fight and the event focused on it have both been canceled. Originally, Netflix announced that the Paul vs. Davis boxing match would take place on November 14 inside Miami’s Kaseya Center, and it would be streamed around the world. Now, all plans for that event have been canceled. That said, Netflix’s article also announced that Paul will headline a boxing event that will stream live later in 2025. Hence, the article’s “delayed” stance. After announcing the canceled event and the plans for Paul’s boxing future, the article explained why this shocking turn of events had happened. The article stated that Paul’s boxing promotion company, Most Valuable Productions, started an investigation into Paul’s original opponent after it was learned that Davis was facing a civil lawsuit. On October 30, 2025, ESPN reported that Davis was facing a civil lawsuit in Miami-Dade County. The outlet revealed that the lawsuit, which alleged battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, had been filed by one of Davis’ ex-girlfriends. The lawsuit was filed against Davis roughly two months after a domestic violence case against him involving another ex-girlfriend was dropped. As a part of Netflix’s aforementioned article on the canceled event, a statement from the CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, Nakisa Bidarian, was included. “Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly. While we will not be moving forward with this event, our plan still remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025. Details regarding a new date, location, Jake’s opponent, and additional bouts will be shared as soon as they are finalized. We thank Netflix, the Kaseya Center, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for their partnership.” A rep for Gervonta “Tank” Davis has not yet responded to Men’s Journal‘s request for comment. Jake Paul’s Previous Netflix Boxing Event Was a Mammoth Success On November 15, 2024, Netflix streamed a major boxing event that was headlined by Jake Paul fighting the former undisputed heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson. In the lead-up to that event, Paul vs. Tyson was one of the most talked-about topics in all of the sports world.
