Today, ADWEEK has an exclusive look at Comscore’s “2025 State of Streaming Report,” which, among other findings, shows that both ad-supported (AVOD) and free ad-supported streaming (FAST) channels are continuing their growth trajectory. Among the highlights, the measurement company found that ad-supported tiers on subscription services are gaining momentum. Comscore found that 45% of Netflix’s U.S. households watch on its ad-supported streaming tier as of August 2025. In 2024, it was just 34%. The growth further supports Netflix’s recent comments that it’s on track to double ad revenue in 2025. In May, Netflix revealed its ad tier now reaches 94 million monthly active users.
