The fast growing organization-Needy Students Aid Service (NeSA) in partnership with the Malawi Police Service (MPS) on Friday urged the youths in Blantyre to focus in their education. This was said during community engagement meeting held in the area of Chief Che Swema, T/A Somba, Blantyre. Speaking during the exercise NeSA Publicity Secretary Abundant Haswell urged the youth not to rush into early marriages, as many challenges can arise from such situations. He also highlighted the need to expose and address abuse that young people face from their parents, guardians, schools, or any other places. “We are committed to working with you, our young people. For those who struggle in school, we encourage involvement in practical skills such as tailoring and fashion design, baking, salon services, welding, and for those who need school support, we will do our best to help you access your educational needs,” said Haswell. On his part Manase Police Unit Officer In-charge Yohane Kausaka hailed NeSA for the taking a leading role in protecting youths in the country. Kausaka then urged youth and all community members to take responsibility in protecting their area from acts of violence against the elderly, especially those who are accused of witchcraft. He further emphasized the importance of raising awareness about different forms of abuse so that people can recognize and report them. He also reminded everyone that police bail is free of charge.
