Neil Patrick Harris' Twins Make Rare Red Carpet Appearance With Him & Husband David Burtka

Neil Patrick Harris‘ twins, Gideon Scott Burtka-Harris and Harper Grace Burtka-Harris, recently made a rare red carpet appearance with him and his husband, David Burtka.
On Tuesday, Sept. 16, the spouses and their two kids, 14, posed for photos during the opening night of the Broadway play ART at The Music Box Theatre in New York City.

For the revived play, the How I Met Your Mother alum portrays the character Serge, with James Corden playing Yvan and Bobby Cannavale playing Marc.
While walking the red carpet, Harris, 52, rocked a shimmery, sheer black undershirt with a black jacket featuring black cheetah print and black pants. Burtka donned a black suit, black pants, a white undershirt and a mustard-colored, printed tie.
Harper, meanwhile, opted for a yellow patterned dress, as her twin brother wore a black suit with a white undershirt and no tie.

Harris and Burtka welcomed their twins in 2010 via surrogate before officially tying the knot in 2014 after going public with their relationship in 2007.
During their childhood, Harper and Gideon have kept a relatively low profile. They did, however, make cameos alongside their famous fathers in Harris’ TV series A Series of Unfortunate Events.
“I thought it would be fun for them to not just visit the set for half an hour and see me and say hello, but actually see what I do for a living,” he told People in 2018. “And they seemed to have a good time.”
Before Tuesday’s appearance, the twins most recently walked a red carpet in May with Burtka for Family Equality’s Night at the Pier at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers in New York City.
In a 2022 interview with Daily Pop, Harris opened up about one way he enjoys bonding with his kids: playing video games.
“We can all play together at our own levels, different mini-games, which is awesome,” he shared. “I love it. It’s a good way to keep us together as a family and play awesome games. And learn, it’s educational.”
Harris also spoke about what he hopes to instill in his children through parenting.
“I really, firmly believe in karma,” he explained. “I tell my kids a lot, ‘You have opportunities to make good or not-so-good choices. Hold the door open for someone, not because you want something good to happen to you, but because the person has bags in their hands, and you want to be a nice person.’”
