Oddsmakers aren’t shying away from Nebraska after the Huskers’ first loss.
Nebraska (4-1, 1-1 Big Ten) opened as 11.5-point favorites last Friday at FanDuel for this Saturday’s 3 p.m. game against Michigan State (2-3, 0-2) on FS1. The line has since settled at 10.5 at some books, but it still reflects strong confidence in Nebraska to bounce back after its 30-27 loss to Michigan.
Should the Huskers cover, it would mark a sharp break from recent history: the past five Nebraska–Michigan State games have all been decided by five points or fewer.
Michigan State, coming off a bye week, is still searching for traction under second-year coach Jonathan Smith. The Spartans went 3-0 in nonconference play, including a 42-40 win against Boston College, but lost 45-31 to USC in their Big Ten opener on Sept. 20.
The over/under sits at 48.5, projecting a score in the neighborhood of Nebraska 30, Michigan State 19. Nebraska is 2-2 against the spread this season.
