Nam Blazers 85-76 UCU Canons (OT) | Blazers win series 3-0.
Namuwongo Blazers have swept UCU Canons to clinch a spot in the final of the 2025 National Basketball League.
Nam Blazers registered a hard-fought 85-76 victory after overtime in the NBL Playoff encounter at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Sunday.
Florence Dushime’s three-point jump shot concluded the first stanza as the Canons opened a one-point (22-21) lead.
Despite the Blazers’ fight in the second quarter, they went into the halftime break trailing by three points (37-40).
Coming from the locker rooms, Marvin Jesse Okurut’s jumpshot capped the third quarter as UCU Canons trailed by seven points (58-51).
The Mukono-based side fought tooth and nail in the final quarter thus levelling 73-73 to force overtime.
In overtime, Canons were limited to only three points as the Blazers secured a nine-point victory on the day.
Michael Makiadi (13 points), Peter Obleng (13 points) and Jimmy Enabu (12 points) led the Blazers’ scoring chart in double digits.
On the other hand, Jimmy Otim (17 points), Joel Kayira (14 points) and Alier Pech Lier (13 points) scored in double digits for the Canons.
