NBA Notes: Bulls, Mouhamadou Gueye, EuroBasket, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Suns

The Bulls have filled out their training camp roster by signing forward Mouhamadou Gueye to an Exhibit 10 contract, per Keith Smith of Spotrac.

Gueye, 25, played 11 games with the Raptors in 2023-24 after stops on 10-day and two-way deals. He averaged 2.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in just under 11 minutes per game.

The 6-foot-9 Pitt product also spent last year in the G League with Washington’s Capital City Go-Go, where he averaged 10 points and 5.4 rebounds.

His Exhibit 10 deal with Chicago means he could earn a bonus of up to $85,300 if waived and then spending 60 days with the Windy City Bulls.

Chicago now has the maximum 21 players under contract for camp.

Giannis pushes Greece forward: Giannis Antetokounmpo poured in 29 points to lift Greece over Lithuania, 87-76, in the EuroBasket quarterfinals. It marks the first time in 16 years that Greece has reached the semifinals.

The Bucks star shot 9-of-15 from the field and 11-of-16 at the foul line while also adding six boards, four steals, two assists and a block. Vasileios Toliopoulos scored 17 points, while veteran guard Kostas Sloukas chipped in 11.

Greece will now face Turkey with a spot in the championship game on the line. Their last EuroBasket gold came in 2005.

On the other side, Nuggets big man Jonas Valanciunas tallied 24 points and 15 rebounds for Lithuania.

“Tonight was a battle,” Valanciunas told reporters. “They were better than us.”

Suns make familiar move: The Suns signed guard Jaden Shackelford to an Exhibit 10 contract, and then promptly waived him.

It’s a repeat of last year, when Shackelford signed in camp, was let go, and spent the season with the Valley Suns in the G League.

The 6-foot-3 Alabama product averaged 18.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 50 games last season. If he returns to the Valley Suns and spends at least 60 days there, he’ll be eligible for a bonus worth up to $85,300.
