The Pelicans were without Zion Williamson on Monday, and it showed. Boston ran them off the floor 122-90 while Williamson sat with a left foot bone contusion. Williamson told Rod Walker of NOLA.com the injury isn’t serious. “Right now we’re in a day-to-day thing,” he said. “But nothing major. Nothing that is going to keep me out for a long time. Just day to day.” The All-Star forward injured the foot on a putback dunk against the Spurs last Friday after stepping on Victor Wembanyama’s foot. “Landed on someone’s foot and the side of my foot just banged the ground,” Williamson said. “The pain level didn’t really pick up until a day or two days later. “I spoke with the team, made the best decision on it. Got it looked at.” Williamson practiced on a limited basis Tuesday and is questionable for Wednesday’s game in Denver. Meanwhile, pressure is mounting on head coach Willie Green after an 0-3 start. Green called out his team’s lack of toughness following Monday’s blowout loss. “I’m disappointed in how we approached the game,” Green said, via William Guillory of The Athletic. “I’m disappointed in the lack of toughness on the floor more than anything. That’s the part that’s difficult. “It’s one thing to not win a game. It’s a whole other thing to get kind of punked on your home floor. And I’m a part of that.” The Thunder just keep winning. Playing without Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, and others, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led OKC to a 107-101 comeback win over the Kings to move to 5-0, as relayed by Brandon Rahbar of FanSided. Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 31 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks. Aaron Wiggins and Ajay Mitchell each added 18 points. “It hasn’t been a masterpiece of execution,” coach Mark Daigneault said, “but I think we’ve flexed our resilience muscle through this stretch.” Next up: the Wizards in Oklahoma City on Thursday. The Bucks improved to 3-1 with a 121-111 win over the Knicks, as relayed by Eric Nehm of The Athletic. Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered 37 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Ryan Rollins added 25 points and Gary Trent Jr. chipped in 11. Milwaukee hosts the Warriors on Thursday in what should be another early-season test.
