A $180,000 Range Rover owned by NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal was stolen in transport in Georgia earlier this month, authorities said. The luxury SUV, customized for the 7-foot-1 O’Neal, was taken from a local business in Dahlonega, Georgia, on Oct. 20. The vehicle was intended to be transported to Louisiana for an LSU football game. Effortless Motors, the California-based shop that customized the Range Rover, arranged for the vehicle to be transported through Texas-based FirstLine Trucking. The vehicle passed through several hands before FirstLine later claimed they were “hacked” in transporting the car, according to Ahmad Abdelrahman, a spokesman for Effortless Motors. “We do all his cars. This time, we set up transport, and transport claimed they were hacked and don’t know who picked up the vehicle,” Abdelrahman told CBS News Atlanta. The case is under investigation by the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia, which confirmed that search warrants have been issued in an effort to locate the vehicle and suspects involved. Effortless Motors has offered a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the recovery of O’Neal’s customized SUV, per CBS. “There are a couple suspects in mind, and they’re doing their thing, but apparently they’re still investigating,” Abdelrahman said. “We take the security and trust of our clients very seriously. This was a highly coordinated criminal act targeting the transport company’s network. Police are saying this may be a part of a big operation ring that’s been happening ... We’re waiting for some updates,” he added.
