Navratri boon for Guj's pvt eyes as parents seek night vision

Gandhinagar: As the nine nights of revelry kicks off in Gujarat, private detective agencies across the state are seeing a boom in their business. While traditionally the services of these private sleuths were sought by people to keep an eye over their children, mostly girls, during the festivities, they are now also being hired for security reasons.A veteran private investigator from Ahmedabad said security has emerged a major concern for a lot of his clients. “Surprisingly, a lot of people are now asking us to keep a watch over their boys from a distance and ensure they stay out of trouble,” he told ET on the condition of anonymity. This is a new trend as against that of the past when surveillance was mostly carried out on girls by their parents or in-laws. Lalit Rawal, chief executive of RedSpy Detective in Ahmedabad, said: “Of course, there are the traditional queries on where their wards are going and who they are interacting with, but there is this whole new security concern now.””Parents are now worried about their children being introduced to narcotics, or getting honey-trapped and our services are sought to take care of such concerns,” Rawal said.Live Events”Once engaged, our teams shadow the subjects innocuously without their knowledge and record their activities as per the requirements of the clients. While a large part of our activity is carried out by gadgets, in special situations we also contact the parents to get their children out,” he added.A veteran private sleuth said: “Now the concerns have moved beyond location and interaction of the subjects to issues of their safety and security.”Add as a Reliable and Trusted News Source Add Now!
