NatWest and RBS issue 'very serious' announcement for customers

NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland are set to axe 46 essential bank branches. NatWest and RBS are pulling the plug on 46 mobile bank branches, with closures set for January 2026. Customers in affected areas will lose convenient access to banking services, forcing many to travel further or rely on online banking. NatWest says on its website: “Banking has changed dramatically in recent years, with an increased demand for mobile and online services, as our customers benefit from a faster and easier way to bank. Closing a branch is a decision we take very seriously. “We know it can affect those less confident with alternatives we offer. We’ll always work hard to guide and support you through the changes and find the best way to serve you from now on.” READ MORE UK households with white walls warned as epidemic starts to sweep England NatWest is “committed to providing our customers with 12 weeks notice of a branch closure announcement,” it adds. “You will be advised of the exact closing date through a poster displayed in branch, or via a closure guide available in branch or online,” the bank said.
