Natalie Cassidy has opened up about a “very big fear” that she suffers from, following an “odd experience” on the set of This Morning. In a recent episode of her podcast, Life with Nat, the EastEnders legend described how she was invited to appear on the ITV daytime talk show as part of the news hub in the days when Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were hosts. Her task was to “report” from the hub, but the experience ultimately “did not leave a nice taste” in her mouth. Indeed, Natalie, who claimed she got “shoved in a room” as part of the role, even admitted that she “failed miserably”. To add insult to injury, she’s confessed that she’s never forgotten the awkward incident, and her time on the show has apparently left her with a “big fear” of one crucial aspect of live television . She said: “Anyway, I was very pleased with myself because you know what I’m like, and listeners may not understand, but if you listen to the pod, you will know that years ago, I had a bit of an odd experience on This Morning in the news hub.” She continued: “And I was given an earpiece, and I got shoved in a room, and I failed miserably, so I have a very, very big fear of earpieces on live television because of that.” Explaining what happened, she detailed how she entered the hub, but hadn’t been invited to rehearse. Natalie said she was placed in the room with an earpiece and monitors and had “loads of people” talking to her. She added: “They threw to me, and I just did not know what to do. It was like a Partridge gone wrong, and I just stood there.” In other news, Natalie recently informed her fans that her “wish came true” as she shared details about her career. Natalie, who announced she would part ways with EastEnders earlier this year, has since appeared on Channel 4’s What’s The Big Deal: Britain’s Best Buys? and a show on Virgin Radio UK. Meanwhile, Natalie won Cooking with the Stars, hosted by Emma Willis and Tom Allen, fending off competition from Kelly Hoppen and Jack Osbourne to land the coveted golden frying pan trophy. In the wake of the finale, Natalie shared a series of photos from her stint on the show, including a snap of her daughter, Joanie, and fiancé Marc Humphreys, as well as her trophy. Natalie captioned the post: “WHAT CAN I POSSIBLY SAY?!?! A lot actually. So when I saw cooking with the stars on the telly years ago, I thought- ooooh, it’s sponsored by @marksandspencerfood – I would LOVE to do that. “Then the years have gone by and I have not been free. Suddenly I found myself free and the offer of this show came up. “I said to @scott.mitchell3 (my agent and dear friend) I HAVE TO DO THIS! My wish came true.” You can next catch Natalie in The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice on Friday on September 19, from 8pm to 9pm
