NASA denies Kim Kardashian’s bizarre claim about the 1969 moon landing

Call it one small step for sanity? NASA has fired back at Kim Kardashian for saying she believes that U.S. astronauts did not land on the moon. According to Entertainment Weekly, the reality star, business woman and influencer told actress Sarah Paulson on the Thursday episode of “The Kardashians” that she thought the 1969 Apollo 11 mission was “fake.” Shown on the set of her upcoming TV series “All’s Fair,” Kardashian said Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin has “gotten old and now he like, slurs.” She tells Paulson “I’m sending you, like so far, a million articles, um, interviews with both Buzz Aldrin and...the other one,” she says, referring to Neil Armstrong, the first man to land on the moon on July 20, 1969. “So, I think it didn’t happen,” Kardashian said. “I center conspiracies all the time.” That was too much for acting NASA chief Sean Duffy, who responded on social media: “Yes, @KimKardashian, we’ve been to the Moon before… 6 times!“ Duffy wrote.” And even better: @NASAArtemis is going back under the leadership of @POTUS. We won the last space race and we will win this one too" The United States sent Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17 to the moon between 1969 and 1972. Conspiracy theorists on the Internet have theorized that the moon landing was faked, sometimes saying it was done with the help of director Stanley Kubrick. Other stories call attention to an interview between Aldrin and talk show host Conan O’Brien where Aldrin referred to animations used by broadcasters at the time in their coverage of the moon landing, intercut with real footage, according to Reuters. Aldrin once punched a man in 2022 who claimed the landing was faked.
