Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday distributed appointment orders to 15,941 newly recruited teachers through the Mega DSC-2025 at a grand public meeting held near the Secretariat in Amaravati.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the recruitment was completed despite 106 legal cases filed against the notification. “Teaching is not just a profession, it is a responsibility to educate and empower the students who are our future,” he said.
Reiterating his government’s commitment to employment generation, Mr. Naidu said that by 2029, Andhra Pradesh will create 20 lakh jobs and already MoUs were entered for investments worth ₹10 lakh crore. “Education should be value-driven, reflecting the ethical foundation of our country,” he noted.
Mr. Naidu announced that Chaganti Koteswara Rao has been appointed as the State’s advisor on education. He urged teachers to identify the inherent talents of students and encourage them to pursue excellence in their chosen fields.
Govt. initiatives
Highlighting reforms in the sector, the Chief Minister cited initiatives such as ‘One Class, One Teacher’, Thalliki Vandanam, improved school infrastructure, ‘no bag day’ on Saturdays, motivation beyond academics, and distribution of textbooks before the start of the academic year.
Criticising the previous YSRCP government, he alleged that negligence had severely damaged the education system, forcing 10 lakh students to migrate from government to private schools. “Education standards slipped during the YSRCP regime in the State. The Nadu-Nedu scheme remained only on paper, and English medium was introduced in haste, disturbing the system,” Mr. Naidu said.
Andhra Pradesh must emerge as a “knowledge economy,” for which primary education would form the foundation, he said.
Assuring transparency, Mr. Naidu promised that DSC notifications would be released every year to fill vacancies.
The Chief Minister recalled that teachers played a key role in shaping his political career and expressed pride that more women had secured employment in this recruitment. He attributed his son Lokesh’s educational success to the guidance of his wife, Nara Bhuvaneswari.
BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav said Mr. Naidu’s first signature as the Chief Minister was on the DSC file, underscoring the priority accorded to education by the NDA government.
International exposure for teachers
HRD Minister Nara Lokesh said that Andhra Pradesh’s education model should evolve into a global benchmark. He promised to send the best teachers abroad to study international practices and requested the Chief Minister to consider a law on gender sensitivity. “I feel blessed to be a Minister for recruiting teachers. For three generations — my grandfather, father, and now me — our family has been responsible for teacher recruitment in the State,” he said.
After the conclusion of the Assembly session, MLAs, MLCs, and Ministers joined the event to extend their support and motivate the newly recruited teachers.
