He said “The PM told me to keep humility, and also to keep empathy as an important quality. It was Modi ji who remembered my father in his centenary year. Sir, India needs you.” It has to be noted that PM Modi recalled his tribute to ANR Garu in the 117th episode of Mann Ki Baat, where he also honored legends Tapan Sinha, Raj Kapoor, and Mohammed Rafi. He highlighted ANR Garu’s key role in shifting the Telugu film industry from Chennai to Hyderabad. PM Modi praised ANR Garu’s contributions beyond cinema, highlighting his dedication to education, and philanthropy. He established Annapurna Studios, a key hub for filmmakers, and played a key role in education by founding and supporting institutions like Akkineni Nageswara Rao College in Gudivada. In March this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met actor Nagarjuna at Parliament House today. Nagarjuna presented him with the book Mahaan Abhineta Akkineni Ka Viraat Vyaktitva, honouring legendary Telugu actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao on his 100th birth anniversary. The book is written by Padma Bhushan awardee Prof. Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad. On the work front, Nagarjuna is set to work with Ra Karthik of Nitham Oru Vaanam fame. Nagarjuna’s 100th film is likely to be an engaging drama, which will see him in a raw avatar with an emotionally strong story. This will be Nagarjuna’s second collaboration this year with a Tamil film maker, right after Lokesh Kanagaraj who has directed Coolie.
