Navi Mumbai: Motorists planning to travel along the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Tuesday, September 16, should prepare for a temporary closure between 2 PM and 3 PM. This disruption is due to essential maintenance work being carried out by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. (MSEDCL) near the Bhatan tunnel, where a feeder and transmission line will be installed. To minimise inconvenience, alternative routes have been established for all types of vehicles. Those travelling from Mumbai to Pune will be diverted at Kalamboli Circle, directing them towards the JNPT road, which leads to D-Point at Palaspe junction along National Highway 48 (NH-48). Additionally, vehicles will also be redirected from Khalapur toll plaza at 32.200 kilometres and from Magic Point at 41.200 kilometres. For motorists heading from Pune to Mumbai, the diversion will occur at the Shedung exit, connecting them to the Mumbai-Pune highway (NH-48) at the Khopoli exit. MSEDCL has committed to completing the work within the designated hour, ensuring that normal traffic flow resumes promptly thereafter.
