Man Removes Illegal Posters Taking to X, the man dropped pictures of himself taking down the poster from a pillar on Mumbai Metro’s Line 2 B. Sharing the snaps, he wrote in the caption, “Guess who decided to take things in his own hands? Me. Me. Me! Some idiot decided to paste his biz ad on the Mumbai Metro Line 2B’s pillar. I took it down. Can’t spoil the aesthetics na.” Adding to this, the man shared that he will be removing the Political banners from the walls of Mumbai. “Next assignment? Political banners. Starting soon,” he wrote. Ad wars on Metro pillars? Not happening on our watch, or yours! Mumbai Metro Authority Is All Praises As soon as he dropped the post, the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) publicly applauded his action. They wrote, “Ad wars on Metro pillars? Not happening on our watch, or yours! Big shoutout to citizen hero, Karthik Nadar, for peeling off what didn’t belong.” Not just this, the authority also addressed the business responsible for the advertisement and stated that a penalty would be imposed on the salon. The note further reads, “And a reminder to The Sobo Nail Salon who pasted it: your job is to beautify, not vandalise. A penalty is being imposed, as putting up illegal posters or billboards on Metro premises is a punishable offence under Section 62(2) of the Operation and Maintenance Act, 2002.” Lastly, the authority requested the Mumbaikars to keep the city clean. “Metro Line 2B belongs to Mumbaikars. We’ll make sure it stays spotless and spectacular,” the post concluded. Internet Can’t Stop Praising An X user shared, “Great work, brother, but the same government officials allow banners and hoardings to stick on metro pillars.” Another one wrote, “What Karthik did is commendable. But, why can’t you see what Karthik and all of us see regularly? Why can’t you do anything about it?” One user commented, “He put his life and limb on risk to protect one metro pillar. MMMOCL needs to proactively monitor so ordinary residents don’t have to do this and issue strict penalties against anyone who defaces the pillars,” A person wrote, “Glad you took the matter into your hands. Many were worried for Karthik as his work may lead him to a situation. Karthik is a hero, and people like him must be protected by the authorities like you did here.” “Chaa gaye guru,” wrote a person. In October this year, the BMC removed 7,789 illegal banners and posters across Mumbai, many of which were put up during Navratri celebrations.
